Sarmila's Story

Sarmila Lama is 15 years old girls who is staying in LHFN Child care Headuta. Her father beat her mother, becomes  She has been having  which is possibly the result of an accident she witnessed at the age of 10. This started when she witnessed a person getting hit by a truck and he died on the spot. She was covered in the person’s blood which caused her to faint for the first time and it has been continuing ever since. Also, her father was a drunkard and abused his wife and children. On December 2017, he beat his wife to death and also beat Sarmila and her brother. She was traumatized by the mishap of her mother and the actions of her father. After her father was sentenced to life imprisonment, Sarmila and her younger brother were sent to LHFN hostel by the Government of Nepal. When she was first brought to the hostel, she was very disturbed, both mentally and physically, so she would faint and had to be taken to the hospital very often. With time, she has been healing and has started to socialize more. She is doing well in her studies as well as other extra-curricular activities. She enjoys dancing a lot. However, she gets unconscious attacks time and again, even though it is not as frequent as it used to be. Medical reports show that she has been suffering from anxiety. She is under medication for the improvement of her condition. Her father died in 2019 last year. Sarmila and her brother are at Headuta LHFN shelter
